Grading Policy:

Grading Policy:
The following categories make up your final grade. Please monitor your progress on teacherease.
- 25% CLASSWORK (your effort, participation, contributions to class discussion, how well you stay on task and focused)
- 25% CULMINATING TASKS (three-draft writing pieces)
- 20% HOMEWORK (10 points for each assignment completed correctly and on time. Late homework receives half credit.)
- 10% PERFORMANCE TASKS / ACTIVITIES (Short, formal written responses)
- 10% TESTS/EXAMS/QUIZZES
- 10% MyON (online reading program)
ASSIGNMENTS:
*ALL HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS MUST BE HANDED IN ON LOOSELEAF PAPER WITH A FULL HEADING (INCLUDING YOUR FULL NAME) AND A TITLE THAT SHOWS WHAT THE ASSIGNMENT IS (NOT "ELA" OR "HOMEWORK").

REMINDERS:
1. MyOn is a critical part of your progress and your ELA grade. You are required to read a minimum of 5 hours per week.
2. Homework without a full heading, including a FULL name and CLASS will NO LONGER be accepted.
3rd Marking Period:
2/2/15-2/4/15: Last days to complete required portfolio work for 2nd marking period. Continue reading a minimum of 5 hours per week.
2/6/15: Review your Quarterly Exam.
1. CORRECT ALL INCORRECT ANSWERS (wrong answers have a red line on the scan sheet).
2. WRITE NEXT TO EACH CHANGE either WHY your original choice is wrong OR WHY you are choosing your new answer. I want to see your THOUGHT PROCESS.
*If you missed the quarterly exam, you must complete a blank one for homework.
